Ruby (Catherine) Morris, known lovingly by her family as “Granny” passed away peacefully on Christmas morning, December 25, 2022, at Covenant Care at Ascension Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. Catherine was born July 30, 1930 in Monroe County, but lived a majority of her life in Atmore, Foley and later in Mobile, Alabama. While living in Atmore, she was recognized by the Escambia County Board of Education for 17 years of culinary service at Escambia County High School. Catherine had a passion for cooking and loved being in the kitchen preparing everyone’s favorite foods. Her table was always full with good food and family. She was creative and enjoyed arts and crafts especially crocheting and also had a wonderful garden.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Orville Morris; daughter, Deborah Kay Morris; parents, Emmette and Ruby (Baas) Stinson; and siblings: Mebaline Blackmon, Syble Gavin, Earl Stinson, Oria Stinson, Clifford Stinson, Edna Pearl Petrella and Orlene Frances Corey.
She is survived by her twin sons, Donald (Denna) and Ronald (Debbie) Morris; grandchildren, Melanie (Tommy) Sigler, Kevin (Jennifer) Morris, Melissa (Ward) Muller, Kristen (Derek) Thomas; sister Christine (Jerry) Glenn, and beloved great-grand children and great-great grand child.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery, 11748 Old Stage Rd., Atmore, AL 36502.
