Rose met her future husband Harry after he returned to Mobile from serving as a Marine in the Pacific Theater and Occupied Japan. They were married in 1950, raised a family of three children and enjoyed 57 loving years together. They were a perfect example of America’s Greatest Generation.
Rose was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to garden, bake, read and spend time with her family. She was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she was a dedicated member of St. Anne’s Guild.
Rose was preceded in death by her father, John Hughes and mother Rose Ann Fenimore Hughes and her husband, Harry Reginald Schaub. She is survived by one sister, Sara Mahony; she is also survived by her son, John Trotter Schaub (Gayle); daughters, Sally Schaub Greer (Jack) and Nancy Schaub Galanos (John); eight granddaughters, Elizabeth Galanos Gregory (Scott), Katherine Galanos Vickers (Chris), Julia Greer Fobes (Gray), Lucy Greer Cheriogotis (Spiro), Allison Schaub Skoda (Kris), Sara Galanos Eudy (Jeremy), Elizabeth Schaub Greer (Tyler), and Erin Schaub Greene (Ryan) and nine great grandchildren
The family would like to give special thanks to the staffs at Springhill Senior Residence Center and Kindred Health Service for all their loving care and kindness.
