Ronald Preston Scott, Sr., born July 21, 1939 went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2018. Ronald, “ Ronnie” as he was best known, was a native of Mobile, AL. He was an entrepreneur, having owned his own appliance business, Loop Appliance for many years. He coined the phrase “See Ronnie Scott, and Save a Lot”. He was well known in the area for his enthusiasm selling automobiles. He was employed with Joe Bullard Automotive for 19 years. He entered into the entrepreneurial business again with his son, at Skip’s Auto Sales. Together they ran the business for 25 years. Ronnie attended Murphy High School where he met the love of his life, Jacqueline “Jackie”, at the age of sixteen. In June of 1955, Ronnie and Jackie were wed in Lucedale, Mississippi. Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lessie Scott; son, Dennis Michael Scott; sisters, Gloria Stoker, Ruby Brewer and Serena Pipkins. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; sisters, Doris (Monroe) Mayfield, Betty McKendree, brother William “Bill” Scott and Jeannie (Jack) Skinner; his children, Richard (Peggy) Hinckle, Rebecca (Jeffrey) McClinton, Ronald, Jr. “Skip” (Mary Jane) Scott and Missy (Keith )Haney. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Robert (Tina) Hinckle, John Hinckle, Christina (Matthew) Eady, Andrew (Laura) Scott , Chase (Kaylee) Scott, Laurie (Tyler) Doss and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Pine Crest Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until service time of 11:00 a.m. Chapel services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
