Ronnie Albert, a native Mobilian and a lifelong member of St. Pius Catholic Church, passed away on May 4, 2024. Ronnie attended McGill–Toolen High School and was a graduate of The University of South Alabama. Early in his career he worked for Sears, in Mobile, followed by many years at Canvas Products where he followed in the footsteps of his father, E.H. Albert. Both Ronnie and his father loved working at Canvas Products where they were surrounded by wonderful friends and family.
He was an ardent follower of the Fourth Commandment, honor your father and mother, and put his parents first in most matters of life. An invitation extended to Ronnie was never turned down; not a birthday, sacramental celebration or Sunday dinner. He was a great lunch companion and Santa’s best elf at Christmas. Ronnie enjoyed cruising, collecting cars and lawnmowers, taking care of his animals and being a perfectionist in his yard. He was a gracious and admirable son, brother, uncle and friend.
Ronnie was predeceased by his parents Dorothy Elizabeth Albert and Edward Henry Albert, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Linda Albert Tendhundfeld, who was not just his sister but closest friend, many nieces and nephews and Shadow, his trusty cat.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9th, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Pius, X on Friday, May 10th, at 10:00 a.m. followed immediately by graveside services at Pine Crest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, because of Ronnie's love for animals, donations may be made to The Mobile SPCA at 620 Zeigler Cir W, Mobile, AL 36608.
