Richard “Rick” Thomas Langston – a 46 year-old native and lifelong resident of Mobile passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at his home. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of South Alabama and an M.B.A. from Auburn University. Rick was employed as a chemist and production engineer for Huntsman Corporation for over 20 years. He worked as a high school recruiter, primarily in football and basketball, for 14 years, most notably for Auburn University, the University of Florida, and L.S.U. Rick worked with the National Scouting Report as a recruiting scout for the past seven years. He volunteered with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and served as a math tutor for the Alabama Department of Corrections. Rick was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed renovating homes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Betty Langston. Rick is survived by two brothers, Jim Langston and his wife, Anita, of Wendell, NC and Billy Langston of Mobile; nephew, Kenny Langston and family; three nieces, April McHaney, Kim Langston, and Jennifer Anderson and their families; other relatives and friends. A memorial visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Thursday, March 11, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Big Brothers Big Sisters, 230 N. 13th St., Philadelphia, PA 19107-1538.
