Sorry to hear about Mr Kennedy passing away. He was a wonderful boss at Magnolia Federal Bank. The best place I ever worked. Everyone worked so well together and it left me with wonderful memories. 

RICH AND i WERE HIGH SCHOOL BUDDIES BACK IN THE 50'S. AFTER A LONG PERIOD, WE MET AGAIN AT OUR 50TH LUBBOCK HIGH SCHOOL REUNION. WE BECAME E-MAIL FRIENDS AND RENEWED OUR FRIENDSHIP.  LATER I SENT HIM AN AUDIO DISK WITH 13 OF MY FAVORITSE OLDIES (I SANG AND RECORDED.)  HE CONFIDED THAT EVERY DAY HE LISTENED TO THE DISK WHILE DOING HIS 40 MINUTE RUN.
RICH WAS A GREAT FRIEND AND WONDERFUL PERSON. I REALLY DO MISS HIM.

Richard and I were good friends and classmates in Junior High (O. L. Slaton) and High School (Lubbock High School) in the 50's. Rich, Larry Byers and I were the only males in Drama class with 15 females. We had fun.
We lost touch after High School until years later at our 50th HS reunion we renewed our friendship. Rich came to visit Barb and me after my Heart Bypass surgery and we remained E-Mail Buddies from then on. I sang and recorded 13 of our favorite "Oldies" and e-mailed them to him. He transferred them to his i
 Pod and he listened to them every day on his walks.

I always loved seeing you and your family worship Jesus at Dayspring.  Glory to God for Salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ.

My favorite is from Joe & Shelley’s wedding! The dads had a BBQ cook off! He won hands down! His smile said it all! He always made us feel like part of the family! Will miss you big time. Kim Boozer

     There is so much to say about Dad. I cannot do him justice. I knew when I first met him that this was someone who loved his family and was committed to them.  Dad loved God, and wanted to live his life to honor Him. 

     Dad loved his work, which for a long time involved helping others make sound financial decisions. When he handled home mortgages, he made sure people could actually afford the homes they bought. When he retired, he worked extensively for Habitat for Humanity, and he had a passion for providing disadvantaged people in Mobile with good, affordable homes. I remember Dad happily driving us through a Habitat revitalized neighborhood, explaining how the homes had been rebuilt in an energy-efficient, eco-friendly manner that would also be good, solid homes for families. 

     Dad also sought to study and understand God, and serve Him in His church. In Hattiesburg, MS, Dad was an interim pastor for a period of time at Central Christian Church. In Mobile, Dad attended Christ Anglican Church, and later we took him to Dayspring Baptist Church. 

     In the past few years, I knew him as he had dementia. Though he had a wonderful childlike spirit, he was still a brilliant man - pushing himself. I remember when he could still use his Ipad and the Dayspring app - many times he would be reading his devotionals in the morning - though I knew this was difficult for him. He would also find and listen to sermons from the app (sometimes at the strangest times!) He asked questions about the news. He pushed himself when therapists worked with him on exercises. 

     Dad loved us all. The picture attached is he and Mom on my wedding day, when I married his son. He delighted in his family. When he had dementia, he listened to us talk about our day, and asked us how things were going. He was kind to the caregivers who helped him. He was an example of who I want to be if I am in his position in old age. He is with Jesus, and one day I will be with him.

Uncle Dick, you left us much too soon, we will always cherish the memories we have of you and Vaunie on our various road trips. The good Lord has so much happiness waiting for you because you were such a loyal servant and such a giving person. You have left a hole in our hearts that will always be there because we loved you so much. Till we see you again in heaven, God speed.

My sweet Brother-in-law will be missed greatly by all of us in the family. He was a highly successful man in his career and a wonderful loving Husband as well as a loving and caring Dad to his children.   I know he is in a glorious place in heaven and at peace!
