Richard Norman Dicken passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and priest, Fr. Crow, on February 17, 2022, at the age of 67. He was born in Louisville, KY., on November 21, 1954, to Norman A. and Ruby Wells Dicken. Richard was the youngest of 3 children. He moved to Mobile in 1956 and was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Richard was a 1972 graduate of McGill Institute and received his BS degree in Business Management from the University of South Alabama in 1979. After, graduation, he went to work for the US Postal Service, where he was a mail carrier for 38 years. Richard married Donna, the love of his life, on August 2, 1980. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Melissa, Tori and Tony.
Richard was a devout Catholic who loved spending time with his family, fishing, and University of South Alabama Sports. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Ruby Dicken, sisters, Donna Ganzarain and Susan Williamson. Richard is survived by Donna Jewett Dicken, his loving wife of 41 years, daughters, Melissa Harrison (George), Tori Brashears (Joey), son Tony Dicken (Kristin), grandchildren, Taylor Harrison, Garrett Harrison, Logan Brashears, Ava Ruth Brashears, nephews, Mark Ganzarain and Paul Weaver and brothers-in-law, Manny Ganzarain and Jack Williamson. A Funeral Mass will be said for Richard at a later date. Richard was loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He will live on in our hearts and we look forward to the day when we see him again.
