Raymond L. Kervin, age 93, of Loxley, Alabama, passed away July 23, 2017. Raymond was born January 31, 1924 in Conecuh County, Alabama to Leonard Kervin and Ada Mathews Kervin Brown. He was the third of seven children.
Raymond served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II as an airplane mechanic. After his service he returned to Mobile, Alabama, and worked as a welder at the Alabama Shipyard until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing during his retirement. Raymond had four children, Johnny Kervin, Sandra Clark, Billy Kervin, and Becky Welch.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, sisters Ruby Burgens, Audrey Brooks, and Opal Stodghill, brothers Grady and Roy Kervin, and son, Johnny.
Survivors are his children Sandra Clark, Billy Kervin and wife Carla, and Becky Welch and husband Bart, sister Dorothy Jean Beesley, and grandchildren Robert Kervin and wife Brina, Debbie Kervin and companion Ken Bryan, Lisa Good and husband Scott Good, Stephen Seymour and wife Toni, Robert Seymour, Pamala Shaffer and husband Gary, Stephanie Helmick and husband Jason, Billy Kervin, Jr., Jessica Welch, Sam Welch and special friend Roberta Miller. He had 12 great-grandchildren, Kayla and Chris Kervin, Chase Bryan, Jenny, Ryan and Nathan Good Lucas and Logan Seymour, Brennon and Wyatt Shaffer, and Alex and Sean Helmick.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Radney Funeral Home Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Alabama State Veteran's Cemetery, Spanish Fort, Alabama.
