He was preceded in death by his mother, Irma Thompson; father, Howard Thompson Sr.; his sister, Shirley Thompson; and his brother, Howard Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Williams Thompson; his daughter, Kelly Thompson Moorehouse; grandchildren, Corey, Kaitlin, Hailey, and Kinsley; and his son, Jason Thompson.
Doug worked for Water Works MAWSS for 25 years.
Doug enjoyed fishing and being on the water. He loved playing pool with his friends, going to the casino and eating seafood. Doug loved his cats and playing with them, all five of them.
He battled for three years with different health issues. He passed away peacefully in his sleep March 5, 2024.
Visitation for Doug will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
