Peter “Pete” Poulos – a 73 year-old native of Manhattan, NY and longtime resident of Mobile passed away at his home on Sunday, July 21, 2013. Mr. Poulos retired from Alabama Power after 47 years of service. He was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Assembly of God and was very involved in the Royal Rangers for 45 years. He enjoyed working with the members of the Royal Rangers and wanted to make a difference in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Spyros Poulas and Angeliki Papadeas. Mr. Poulos is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cordelia “Dee” Poulos; children, Laura Springer, Steve Poulos (Jessie), Paul Poulos (Jennifer), and Angel Hill (Shane); grandchildren, Jeffrey Springer, Ashley Springer, Caitlin Ruehmkorf, Christian Poulos, Morgan Poulos, Lily Poulos, Gavin White, and Maddie Whitehead; sisters, Sophia Dreaden, Cathy Roseberry, Niko Poulos; nephews, Nicky DeLlacer and Tony deLlacer; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Royal Rangers at Gospel Lighthouse Church, 8840 Howells Ferry Rd., Semmes, AL 36575.
