Pauline Marie Goodman passed away peacefully in her sleep on 29 May 2012. Polly, as she was known by her family and friends, was born in Scammon, Kansas on 23 July 1923, and moved to Northern Alabama as a small child. Following her graduation from Cordova High School, she moved to Mobile and worked at Brookley Field during WWII. After the war, she met the love of her life, CSM Alvin W. Goodman, USA (Ret). Polly and Al were inseparable throughout Al's career in the U. S. Army and when he retired from the Army they became 18-wheelers, travelling around the United States together in their Peterbilt truck. Polly and Al were married for 42 years, until Al passed away in April 1992. Polly is survived by her sister, Agnes Cooper; brother William "Bear" Russell; and her two sons, Bill and Dan Goodman; and their children and grandchildren. On Friday, 29 June 2012, the family will receive friends beginning at 3.p.m at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. The memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. A reception will be held immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home. Polly will be loved forever, missed dearly and never forgotten.
