Paul H. Griffin Felber - a native of Muskegon Heights, MI and resident of Mobile, AL, died on March 17, 2012, after sustaining injuries in a multi-vehicle accident in Mobile. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Wilba Felber of Fruitport, MI, and elder sister, Colleen Edwards. Mr. Felber is survived by his wife of 66 years, Angie Solman Felber; two daugh-ters, Julie (J. Larry) Miles of Newark, NY and Paula (Ronald) Thompson of Stockton, AL; four grand-children, Matthew (Sarah Lees) Dempsey of NY, Sarah Dempsey of NY, and Lisa (Jayson) Morgan and Sherry Miles both of Mobile. Paul also enjoyed eight great-grandchildren: David Dempsey, Daniel Dempsey, Logan Dempsey, Vicki Dempsey, Dana Priebe, and Jade Goodman all of NY, and J. Dalton Morgan and Jessica Morgan of Mobile. Mr. Felber was a class of 1942 graduate of Muskegon Heights High School, MI. A WWII U.S. Army veteran, Paul served at Ft. Sheridan in Chicago, IL. After honorary discharge, Mr. and Mrs. Felber resided in Spring Lake, MI, where he was very active in the community. Moving to Mobile in 1972, Paul later retired from a management position with Teledyne Continental Motors. Paul was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Muskegon, MI and The Christian Science Church of Mobile. Paul was a life-member and Past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge #1200 in Grand Haven, MI. Mr. Felber was a volunteer member of the Sonshine Builders in Mobile, which takes on charitable renov-ation and new structure building projects including the Home of Grace for Women and the Methodist Children's Home in Mobile. He was a disaster specialist volunteer with the Red Cross. Paul served a number of years as an elections worker in the City of Mobile. An avid golfer, Paul played with several senior groups. He proudly shot a hole-in-one. He was a past member of the Grand Haven Golf Club in MI, and Lake Forest Country Club in Daphne. Other activities and hobbies included avid reading, gardening, travel, boating, bowling, and computers. Paul was well-known for woodworking and designing and building toys for charitable donation. Finally, the family cat, Sally, will miss his warm lap, loving hand, and kind voice. Memorial services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the service hour.
