Patricia Ann Duff Dumas, a lifelong Mobilian, who was born to John L. And Bessie E. Duff on October 17, 1938, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family. Her time spent with her family was her greatest treasure, and what she enjoyed doing the most in life. She kept the roads hot – attending as many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s extracurricular activities, milestones and accomplishments as she could. She enjoyed visiting the Mississippi Gulf Coast Casinos, or as she called it “supporting her grandchildren’s education”. Patricia and her best friend were regulars at Beef O’Brady’s, where the staff affectionately referred to them as “The Patties”. She loved fishing, softshelling, floundering, and crabbing. As evidenced by her 45 plus years of dedication and service with the Catholic Youth Organization, she loved sports and the children who participated in those sports programs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alphonse Dumas, III; her parents; her siblings, Mary Elizabeth Boyes, Regina Lois Gibson, Gladys Fidelis Haskins, John Joseph Duff, Francis Louis Duff, and Rose Marie Murphy.
She is survived by her three sons, Anthony W. (Patricia) Dumas of Dothan, AL, Vincent D. (Michele) Dumas of Theodore, AL, Raymond M. (Monica) Dumas of Mobile, AL; one daughter, Amy D. (Jason) Rollins of Starkville, MS; eleven grandchildren, William “Bill” Blocker of Dothan, AL, Jacob Blocker of Wetumpka, AL, Megan Hines of Mobile, AL, Christopher Dumas of San Diego, CA, John David Dumas of Mobile, AL, Joshua and Justin Rollins of Starkville, MS, Elizabeth Dumas, Theodore, AL, Anna Grace and Leah Kate Dumas of Dothan, AL, and Joseph Rollins of Starkville, MS; 14 great-grandchildren; one very special friend, Pat Lipscomb of Theodore, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
