Rev. Odie Davis Jr. lovingly known as "Baby Jr" passed into eternal rest on Friday, February 6, 2015. He was a lifelong resident and native of Mobile, AL born on May 28, 1940. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 24 years, Marie A. (Cooley) Davis, his son Jeffrey B. Davis, parents, Oddie Sr. and Alice Davis; brothers, William "Bill" Davis, James E. "Rock" Davis and Frank Hall. Rev. Davis was a graduate of Cedar Grove Academy , alumni of Central High School and Mobile College where he proudly obtained his B.A. in Theology. He was a baseball player in the Negro League, Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army, served as Commander of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 7 of Mobile, AL. He was a dedicated and lifelong member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church where he served with unconditional devotion as the senior associate pastor for 29 years. Rev. Davis was a devoted family man, loyal friend, mentor and advisor to many.

Davis, Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Lauren-Marie Davis and Odie Jeffrey Davis IV, Lynn Haven, FL. Sisters in law. Louise Davis, Detroit Michigan, Alice Hall, Santa Barbara, CA, Kim Cooley, Wichita, KS. Two devoted, Veronica "Cookie" Sanders and Dorothy Cooley of Mobile, AL.; Brothers in law, Dwayne Cooley; three devoted, Rev. Charles Cooley, Wilbert Cooley and Robert Sanders, all of Mobile, AL. two aunts, Clevon Davis and Beatrice Davis of Mobile, AL. One godson, Jamel (Gwen) Heningburg of Chester, VA. A host of loving nieces and nephews, two devoted, Edrice (Joseph) Morton, Gretna, LA and Dwayne (Layvettia) Davis, Mobile, AL. Two devoted cousins, Thomas Jackson, Mobile, AL and Lenell Norwood, Detroit, MI. Four dedicated friends, Deacon Frank Dees, Joe Agee, Cleophus Lewis and Azella "Sis" Lampkin, all of Mobile, AL. Many other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral Services will take place Saturday, February 14, 2015, 11:00 am at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church, 1850 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
