Myra Kay Gartman

Myra Kay Gartman of Semmes, Alabama passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents William Chester Shoemake and Margaret Thompson Shoemake. She is survived by her faithful and loving sister Sandra Shoemake. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends also survive her.

Over the course of her life Myra had been employed with Mobile River Sawmill, QMS and retired after 17 years with Alabama Cooperative Extension System. She was a faithful member of Camellia Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Assistant Treasurer, member of the Youth Committee, a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the church choir and a soloist.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Camellia Missionary Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
