Murray Loman Driskell, Sr., a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on November 7, 2016. He was born to Dewitt Driskell and Iva Pierce Driskell on January 17, 1922. He will be missed by his wife Shirley Driskell of 74 years. Two sisters, Agnes and Julie. Four brothers Linwood, Alan, Everette and Basil. Three children, Shirley (Leonard) Hart, Murray (Kathy) Driskell and Bobbie Shell. Seven grandchildren, Pat, Kim, Candice, Shannon, Jenny, Thomas and Blake. Nine great grandchildren Shelby, John, Murray, Turner, Griffin, Charlie, Gwyneth, Marion, Myers and Amelia. He served as a Sargent in the 11th Armored Division, under General Patton in the battle of the Bulge in World War II, Where he was a demolition specialist. He was the owner of Canvas Products and was a former president of the National Canvas Products Association. Murray was also former president of Skyline Country Club and an avid golfer. He also enjoyed the Mardi Gras season and was a member of two of Mobile’s Mardi Gras Societies. Visitation will be Saturday November 12, 2016 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be Saturday Nov. 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at the church.
