Mildred Elizabeth Young

Mildred Elizabeth Young, age 87 went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, Known by many friends as “Shorty”. She never met a stranger and knew how to light up a room, she melted hearts everywhere she went. She loved God and her family. She was employed for 17 years at the International Paper and retired after 16 years from Doctors Hospital.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Claude Vincent Young, Jr.; two sons, Ronald Lee Myers and James Vincent Young; her parents, James E. Yeager and Velma M. Yeager; her brothers, Milford Yeager and JW Yeager and a sister, Jewell Dean Orso.

Mildred is survived by one faithful and loving daughter, whom she loved dearly, Claudia (Ronnie) Odom; grandchildren, Roni Anne Land, Cameron (Jadyn) Odom II., Michelle Clark and Melanie Lowe; great grandchildren that she adored , Hailey, Jaci, Cameron G. and Mallory; one sister , Ollie Robinson and nieces and nephews.

Special Thank You to her loving Pastor Steve Norman and her Church Family. She will be deeply missed by all and will be lovingly remembered.

Serving as pallbearers are Cameron Odom II., Cameron Odom III., Michael Snook, Billy Odom, Johnny Young and Dwight Stokes. Honorary pallbearers, Hubert Edmund, Robert Reeves and Norman Weldy.

Visitation will be held on November 21, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Radney Funeral home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606. Funeral Services will be held at noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens, Mobile, Alabama.
