Mary Carolyn Matzenger McDonald

Mary Carolyn McDonald, 90, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died on December 3, 2013. She was a 1941 graduate of Convent of Mercy and president of ADK sorority. She was employed with GM&O Railroad during WWII and was a member of Little Flower Parish for 75 years. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jeannette Matzenger, her brother George S. Matzenger, husband, Edward J. McDonald, Sr., daughter Kathryn M Saucer and son-in-law, Dewey Godwin. She is survived by her children Carolyn (Emery) Thoss, Georgia (Greg) Weiskopf, Louise Godwin, Joe (Jocelyn) McDonald; six grandchildren, Mark (Judy) Thoss, Renee Schmitz, Andy Thoss, Greg (Danielle) Weiskopf, Edward Weiskopf, Mary Saucer; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives. Special thanks to the team at Mobile Nursing and Rehab Center for the wonderful care they showed to our mother this past year. Visitation will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery, Mobile, AL In lieu of flowers donations to Little Flower Catholic Church or school would be appreciated.
