Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Evans) Langley (92) of Mobile, AL passed away on April 18, 2023. She was a true Steel Magnolia with a vivacious personality, fierce love for her family and boisterous laugh that could fill the room. A lifelong Mobilian, she worked for many companies, but found her true vocation as a teacher, first as a substitute at Little Flower and then as a fifth-grade teacher at St. Matthews. She later served as a volunteer at Providence Hospital, working as a receptionist for surgical patients, and finally retiring at the age of 80.
She was beloved by her family and will be deeply missed by her son James Richard Langley, daughter-in-law Beth, and granddaughter Madeline Rose of Daphne, AL; daughter Lee Anne Langley Cox, her husband David Cox, and their children and families: David Allan Cox, Jr. (Lara) and Zoe; Brittney (Weston) Stewart and Caleb, Ella and Cooper; Evan Cox (CC) and Annie, Will and baby due in June; and Brandon Cox (Sharon) and Lucy and Matthew.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband and parents, James Norman Evans and Mary Ann (Carter) Evans.
