Rosee graduated from the Convent of Mercy High School in 1951, where she was a majorette for four years. She then attended a local business school and went on to work at First Federal Savings and Loan. She was married to Edward “E.J.” Joseph Kilday III, her husband of fifty-four years, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on May 30, 1959. He lovingly referred to her as “his Rose”.
Rosee was a member of the Convent of Mercy Alumni Association as well as two Mardi Gras mystic societies. Above all, she was a devoted wife and loving mother.
As a devout catholic, Rosee's faith was strong. She was a longtime member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mobile, AL.
For many years, Rosee could be found working at the local election polls. She spent many summers on Mobile Bay, enjoying the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Her selflessness and kindness was shown to all that knew her.
Rosee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Joseph Kilday III; her parents, Henry J. Ortmann and Alice Kelly Ortmann; her sister, Mary Lawrence Ortmann RSM, and a brother-in-law, Deacon John T. Cretaro.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Mary Lee Kilday and Edward Joseph Kilday IV; her two sisters-in-law, Jo Anne Kilday Cretaro and Mignon V. Kilday; and her cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Ignatius for masses to be said for the repose of her soul.
