Mary Emmer Jackson, 96, native of Mobile, AL, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018. Mrs. Jackson was a true member of the Great Generation – surviving the Depression – which gave her a well-managed financial personality. She was a graduate of Murphy High School, and was offered multiple scholarships upon graduation. She absolutely loved her creative endeavors: China painting, sewing, cake decorating, and decorating for Christmas. Mary Emmer Jackson was an amazing woman, and overcame the many obstacles she endured throughout her life. She was a member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Elwyn Jackson, Sr.; her daughter, Julieanne Jackson; brother, Arthur Brown; and step-granddaughter, Ashley Grad.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Fred) Jones; son, Elwyn (Sally) Jackson, Jr.; granddaughter, Kasey Jackson; grandson, Brandon (Melanie) Jackson great-granddaughters, Taylor and Emily Jackson; step-great-granddaughter and her father, Catherine Grad and Rob Grad; as well as nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
