She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mary Louise “Mae” Hall Tally and Frank Haygood Tally; her devoted husband of 53 years, Curtis Lamar Conner; her sisters Dora Tally, Elizabeth Tally, Alice McKinney, and Joyce Harvillchuck; and her brothers Frank Tally and William Tally.
Mary is survived by her loving children, Mary Elizabeth Swett of Baton Rouge, Margaret (Glenn) deGruy of Mobile, Curtis (Carolyn) Conner of Jacksonville Beach, Joanna (Thomas) Swett of Lafayette, LA, Frank (April) Conner of Mobile, John David (Lolly) Conner of Mobile, and Padraic (Brandie) of Tallahassee. She also leaves behind a legacy through her 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and countless extended family members and friends, all of whom were warmly welcomed at her famous dinner table.
A devout Catholic, Mary was a longtime member of Little Flower Parish in Mobile, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Little Sisters of the Poor in Mobile, Alabama. A rosary will be recited at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will take place at Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway. A reception will follow in the auditorium of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the Sisters, staff, and volunteers of the Little Sisters of the Poor for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Mary in her final years.
