Mary Emma Brady Brooks, a native and life-long resident of Mobile, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert Plummer Brooks, as well as her parents, William Samuel and Evalena Hardin Brady; her brother William S. Brady; her sisters, Evlyn Agnes Brady and Loretta Morley; and her nephew, Richard K. Morley. She is survived by her children, Robert Dana Brooks of Atlanta and James Ashley Brooks (Joan) of Birmingham; three nephews, Charles M. Morley (Beverly), William S. Brady (Valerie) and David M. Morley (Brenda); niece, Judy B. Moore; and other relatives and friends. She was truly a loving and devoted wife, mother and aunt.
She was a 1938 graduate of the Convent of Mercy High School in Mobile, and a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Mobile. She loved traveling, dancing, painting and fishing with her husband. A Mass of Christian Burial to be officiated by Rev. Msgr. Kenneth Klepac will be celebrated on Monday, September 8th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow immediately at Pine Crest West Cemetery, followed by a reception at St. Joan of Arc Church. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 7th. The Rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M.
