Marvin Allen Baldwin, Jr., 73, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born to Marvin A. Baldwin, Sr. and Ruth Mitchell Baldwin on May 29, 1947 in Mobile, Alabama. Marvin attended Murphy High School in Mobile before transferring to The Newman College Preparatory School, Boston, Massachusetts. He attended Flight School in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Marvin retired from Citi Financial after 43 years of service. After the bombing of the Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Marvin felt called to become a reserve Deputy Sheriff, and was memorialized in the Oklahoma City National Memorial for his heroic efforts. He loved flying, hunting, fishing, and Alabama Football (Roll Tide!).
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, as well as three brothers, Jack Reed, Stanley Reed, and Maj. Len Reed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce A. Baldwin; daughters, Lynn R. Murray, Birmingham, AL, and Deborah Baldwin of Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brother, William “Joe” Baldwin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Friday, March 12, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery.
