Marjorie Jean (Lindsey) Nurse

Marjorie Jean Lindsey Nurse, “Margie”, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Christmas Day, 2022. She was born to George and Isabel Rain Lindsey on March 19, 1928 in Mobile, Alabama. Margie was a life-long member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church. She worked as a secretary for many years with the Mobile County Public School System school board. Margie enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader. She was the biggest sweetheart anyone would ever meet – and she never met a stranger. Margie was a kind and loving mother and grandmother, and made her family the main priority in her life. She was a beautiful soul, and will be greatly missed.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Allison Nurse, Jr.; parents; sister, Beverly Finch; and brother-in-law, Warren Finch.

She is survived by her three children, Edward Lindsey Nurse (Theresa), Robert Martin Nurse, and Allison Scott (Jeff); grandchildren, Laura Baker (Tim), Tim Scott (Emily), Edward L. Nurse, Jr. (Lesleigh), and Megan Schenkel (Mitch); eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, George Donald Lindsey (Joanne); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.

A graveside service for Margie will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 1 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery.
