Margaret Lillian Williams was born April 11, 1937 in Mobile, Alabama. She was a life-long resident of the Azalea City, and loved her azaleas along with the other beautiful flowers she tended. Margaret passed peacefully from this life on October 25, 2023 at the age of 86, to walk the streets of gold with her beloved, Jesus.
Margaret dedicated her entire life to serving the Lord, caring for her family, friends, pets, and plants. Margaret had fierce love and devotion to her family – one would say it was her life-long occupation. She absolutely adored being a mother and a grandmother, and she was always there when the need arose. Margaret made sure to spend time with all of the children God blessed her family with, and when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, she loved to host sleepovers with them. As long as she was physically able, Margaret was immensely involved with the activities of her family. She had a helper’s heart, and was generous to a fault.
Margaret loved animals – especially dogs – and any dog in her household received the most quality of care. Her need to help and love extended to her dogs, for when she was widowed, she began cooking breakfast for her pets, lining them in a row, and spoon-feeding them.
Margaret was a member of Forrest Park Bible Church. She loved her Church family, and enjoyed working on various committees and teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed fellowship with God’s people. Most of all, she enjoyed strengthening her faith in the love of her lord.
Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Mae Warnow; her loving husband and love of her life, Clarence K. Williams; and her first great-grandson, John Laurence Segler.
Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory, her three children: John Harwood, Gail (Carlos) Salva, Bill (Amy) Williams; grandchildren: Norris (Beverly) Segler III, Joshua (Laura) Segler, Nicholas (Laura) Segler, Cody Segler, Nicholas Salva, Kevan (Theresa) Salva, Victoria (Austin) Nelson, Zachary Williams; adopted grandchild, Connie (Keith) Cassity; great-grandchildren: Matthew Segler, Lily Segler, Savana Williams, Krista Williams, Emma Segler, Rocco Andrianopoulas, Kayleigh Segler, Baileigh McKee, Anniston Segler, Elijah Segler, and Howie Cassity; a beloved sister, Peggy Beadnell; her sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Williams; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Margaret will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
