She was married to Alfonso Joseph Turk and, after his passing, to Thomas Freeland Odom.
She is survived by John Paul Turk, Mary Angelique Turk (Paul) Christensen, Christopher Moore (Ellen) Odom, Carol Radford Odom, Lillian Ladd Odom, her niece and nephews, and other relatives.
She was a 1953 graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, AL. She graduated Auburn University in 1957, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and worked on the student newspaper, The Plainsmen.
She was a beloved teacher at St. Paul’s Episcopal School and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Virginia Cavalier Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, devoting many hours volunteering at the Richards-DAR House Museum in Mobile, AL.
She will be remembered for her Southern Charm and her love of reading, cooking, and selflessly devoting hours in her family’s pursuit of the arts and various hobbies and interests.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a graveside service in Pine Crest Cemetery immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
