Mrs. Margaret McCants Dixon, a native of Mobile, Alabama departed this life on June 26, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born to the union of James McCants, Sr. and Willie Mae Cannon McCants on June 6, 1939. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband Mr. James Charles Dixon and sister Daisey Wyatt.
She leaves to cherish her memories seven devoted children, Wilma Davis (South Carolina), Charles Dixon (Joyce) Mobile, Elizabeth Allen (Lebarron), Mobile, Zelda Hatcher, Mobile, Richard Howard Dixon of Atlanta, Marcella Sykes (Earl) Mobile, James E. Dixon (Cheryl), Houston, Tx. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 3 devoted granddaughters; Nikenge Davis-Houston (Leonard), Keldreika Dixon Ballard (William), Earyn Danielle Sykes, three sisters, Georgia Packer Taylor, Berniese Stallworth, and Hattie Middleton of Norwalk, Connecticut; five brothers, James (Patricia) McCants, Walter McCants, Sammie (Jackie) McCants of Detroit, Michigan, Elder McCants of San Antonia, TX, David Earl (Karen) McCants, 2 devoted sister-in-laws, Carrie (William) Harrison, Catherine (William) Presley, devoted neighbors, Mr. Eddie and Claudette Howard, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Thelma Thrash, Mrs. Bettye Blackstone, Doris Garror, Mr. Harold Moore and George Slay and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren other relatives and friends and devoted nurse, Megan Elizabeth Smith of Kindred Nursing Services.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 5:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy., Mobile, AL 36605. A visitation will be held at Friday, July 3, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Revelation Missionary Baptist Church, 1711 Taylor Lane, Mobile, AL with a service to follow. Interment will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery.
