Lynn graduated from Murphy High School and the University of Alabama with honors. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Society, several mystic societies, the Junior League of Mobile, and a long time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
She is predeceased by her husbands, Dr. John Thomas Carlin, Jr. and Marion Francis Wilkins. She is survived by her sons, John Thomas Carlin III of Mobile (Dianna) and their daughters Anna Curran and Emily Frances; David Edwin Carlin of Mobile (Anna), their daughters Margaret Lynn and Rebekah Caroline, and Mark Stewart Carlin of Germantown, TN (Carolee), and their children William Thomas and Catherine Elizabeth. She is also survived by her brother, Edwin J. Curran, Jr of Mobile, her brother M Stroud Curran of Tampa, Fl, her step children Diane Hilpert, , Stephen Wilkins, Roger Wilkins, and Paula Weinacker; all of Mobile. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Lynn’s courage and spirit through difficult times were an inspiration, and her humor, generosity, and smile will be missed by many. The family would also like to offer special thanks to Lynn’s longtime friend and caregiver, Mrs. Doris Lewis, and the kind and caring staff of Allen Memorial Home.
Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:30 p.m. from the Chapel at Pine Crest. Interment will be at Pine Crest Cemetery.
On lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Wilmer Hall of Mobile, or the charity of your choice.
