Louise Shanks Moore

Mrs. Louise Shanks Moore went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 4, 2014. She was born November 5, 1918 in Butler County, AL. and was a longtime resident of Mobile, AL. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Acy Moore. They were faithful members of Fulton Road Baptist Church, serving the community there since 1946. She retired from the Mobile Police Department, having served as a School Traffic Officer for over 26 years. She was awarded the Civitan Club of Mobile Award for School Traffic Officer of the Year for 1969-1970. Meme sustained her family through prayer and divine cooking including dressing, strawberry pie and banana pudding. She will be sorely missed. Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughters Ann Howard (Bill) and Janie Stierwalt. She also leaves to cherish her memory two grandsons Brad Howard (Tina) and Scott Howard (Summer), five great-grandchildren, Rachel and Rebekah Wilson, Grace, Luke and Lily Howard. Visitation will be held at Fulton Road Baptist Church on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until service time of 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
