Linda Bernice (Browne) Carter

Linda B. Browne Carter, a resident of Mobile, AL. Born January 03, 1932, departed this life surrounded by loved ones at her home Wednesday, June 30, 2021. A native of Jamaica, NY, and a resident of Mobile for the last 52 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Carter, Sr., of Mobile, AL; her parents, Harold and Madeline Browne, Ozone Park, NY; her sister Alva Walton of Peekskill, NY; and daughter-in-law, Jane Withers Small.

She leaves behind to remember, her two sons, Anthony G. Small of Gautier, MS, and Michael H. (Bernadette) Small, Mobile, AL; and two grandchildren, Harold A. Small, Daphne, AL, and Esther L. Small, Gulfport, MS. She also leaves behind a loving companion and best friend, Alvin Smith, Sr.; three great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews of New York.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home, located at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605, phone – 251-478-5227. A chapel service will immediately follow, with interment in Pine Crest Cemetery.
