Mrs. Laurel Elaine Owen Davis – a native of Weslaco, Texas, and a resident of Mobile died in a local hospital on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Mrs. Davis was a loving wife and mother who lived a life of grace, dignity, wisdom, and strength. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Mrs. Davis retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers after over 30 years of government service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Levon Davis; parents, Finis Leopold and Pearl Mae Aycock Owen; brothers, James Robert Owen and Clarence Donald Owen; and sister, Norma Jean Everage. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Joe) Perez of Citronelle and Levonda (Douglas) Huntley of Bay Minette; eight grandchildren, Jenny Perez of Brooklyn, New York, Jason Perez of Taylorsville, Mississippi, Joe Perez, Jr. of Saraland, Jessie (Josh) Odom of Axis, Leah Perez of Saraland, Christian Crabtree of Daphne, and Laurel Crabtree and Kyla Huntley of Bay Minette; one sister, Doris Owen Perry of Semmes; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street.
