Kevin Louis Douglas, age 62, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Kevin was born September 20, 1956 in Mobile, Alabama to Theresa Marie Palmiero Douglas and Alden Eugene Douglas, Sr. Kevin was born and raised in Mobile, AL but as a child, he and his siblings spent many summers visiting family in New York. Kevin’s career as a U.S. Border Patrol Agent took him from duty stations in Southern California to South Florida before he eventually retired from the Mobile station. After 9/11/2001 Kevin temporarily served on a Joint Terrorism Task Force in Vermont. Years later, he served on another JTTF in Mobile. Kevin retired from U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2013 after 28 years of distinguished service. Kevin loved and respected his large Border Patrol family. Kevin was an amazing husband, father, brother, friend, and mentor. He was generous with his time, talents and advice.
His ability to maintain friendships across time and distance was admirable. A gifted athlete, Kevin enjoyed playing baseball and softball even as an adult. He excelled in running and was a fierce competitor in local races as a young man. Kevin’s love of fishing and diving are legendary. He pursued every opportunity to indulge in both and thoroughly appreciated a friend with a good boat. An avid gardener, he was admired by neighbors for his beautiful yard. In his retirement, Kevin discovered a love for carpentry with skills to match. However, Kevin’s greatest passion was his family. No one could doubt his pride and deep abiding love for his children. They will forever treasure their camping trips with Dad and the memories created, as well as the everyday gift of time spent in his company. Kevin was Robin’s first and only boyfriend and the love of her life. He lives on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years Robin Tyler Douglas and his two children Taylor Carl Douglas and Amy Lynn Roebuck (Elijah), siblings Katherine Douglas and David Douglas (Ellen), and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents Alden Eugene Douglas, Sr. and
