It is with much sadness that the family of Kerry Marie Watson announces her untimely death on Monday, April 12, 2010. A native of Mobile, born June 29, 1963, she was 47. She was a 1981 graduate of Mary G. Montgomery and a 1983 graduate of Southwest State Technical College, where she received her LPN degree. She worked for many years at USA Medical Hospital ER and was currently employed at the Mulherin Custodial Home in Mobile, Alabama. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Mitt and Doris Smith, Isaac and Mary Watson, and her favorite “Best Bud” cousin, James “Jamie” Tyson, Jr. Survived by her parents, Isaac and Peggy Smith Watson, brother, Kevin M. Watson, sister and brother-in-law, Kelly M. Watson (Andrew) Kettler, and niece, Payten Mauree Sara Watson Kettler, who was Kerry‘s heart; her aunt, Jean S. Poythress, cousins, Gregory Y. Poythress, Kimberly P. Burns and Kendel L. Burns of Marianna, FL, special second cousins, Cheryl N. and Britt Meacham, of Mobile, Maxine N. and Dave Tyson of Lakeland, FL, and great Aunt, Millie “Amy” Nash, who she took care of and loved deeply. She will be missed by her relatives and many friends: Rodney Evans, Angie Loftin, Ashford Kettler, Elise Tanner, Jonnette Griffin of Mobile, Patti Meynier and son, Bandon Meynier of Ponchatoula, LA, the residents and her co-workers at the Mulherin Custodial Home, especially Ashley, LaJuana, Melody and Teresa. Kerry was always doing for others, never thinking of herself. Stray dogs, cats, people - she loved and tried to save them all. This giving of herself was reflected in her wish to be an organ donor. We rest assured, knowing that her last wish has given someone eyesight and the most beautiful blue eyes that anyone could have wished for. Matthew 25:40. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM, and the funeral service at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street., on Saturday, April 17. Music will be performed by her friends Cathy Pace, Teresa Raby and Britt Meacham. It is the family’s request that, in lieu of flowers, all donations be made in her memory to Mulherin Custodial Home, 2496 Halls Mill Road, Mobile, AL 36606.
