Katie Melvina Boothe

Katie Melvina Vaughan Boothe born April 9, 1923, age 99, last surviving child of Eugene and Roxie Harris of Mobile, Alabama went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 18, 2022. She is preceded in death by husbands, John Vaughan and William Boothe, siblings, Carl Harris, Vergie Nichols, Orville Harris, Margie Wheeler, Bud Harris and Doris Mims. Daughters, Linda Walker and Barbra Howinton, grandsons Robert Taylor, Randell Taylor, Shane Bohannon and great-grandson Kenneth Eagan also precede her.

Mrs. Boothe was a longtime member of Whistler Church of God. She was a great seamstress and awesome cook and was the foundation and matriarch of her family.

Mrs. Boothe is survived by her daughter, Shelby Sessions (Gerald) and son, Alton Vaughan (Mark). Her 11 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren also survive her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Chapel services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Wolfridge Cemetery.
