Juanita was born to Elbert Louis Capps and Mittie Rae Bozeman Capps on December 18, 1927, in Theodore, Alabama. Her entire life was devoted to her family. Juanita was an angel – God chose to give her four beautiful children, two of which are special needs. He knew what He was doing, because she was completely fulfilled in her role as wife and mother. Her home was Juanita’s “little piece of heaven”, and she had no desire to be anywhere else. Juanita and her husband Robert had a quite impressive vegetable garden, and loved spending time together tending to the garden and watching it grow. This could be symbolic of Juanita’s life as a whole: she loved to tend and watch things grow. Her priorities were always God, husband, family. Juanita was a wonderful soul and will be greatly missed.
Juanita joined the love of her life, her husband of 51 years, Robert A. “Bubba” Lartigue; and great-granddaughters, Katelyn McDonald and Aubrey Clough.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, David Michael Lartigue, Sharon Lartigue Everett (Sam), Teresa Lartigue Nolton, and Polly Ann Lartigue; grandchildren, Tiffany McDonald (Chris), Michael Hartman, Jr., Anthony Vandenberg, Jr. (Susie), Samuel Everett, Jr. (Marie), April Hadley (Jason), and Andrew Vandenberg; bonus grandchildren, Erica Hartman and Amanda Vandenberg; great-grandchildren, Alex Vandenberg, Luke Williams, Haley Sanders, Peyton McDonald, Madison Everett, Emily McDonald, Victoria Hartman, Madison Hall, Mackenzie Hadley, Isabella Hartman; Lainey Vandenberg, Jase Hadley, Michael Hartman, III, Mallory Vandenberg, Andy Vandenberg, and Hazel Vandenberg; great-great-grandchildren, Ronan Williams, Alayna Williams, and one blessing on the way; four caregivers who are extremely close to Juanita and her daughters' heart: Donna, Brittany, Angela, and Tiffany; as well as nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
A graveside service for Juanita will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 1 p.m. in Lartigue Cemetery.
The family would like to extend the utmost gratitude for the care Alabama Hospice has provided for the past three years.
