Joyce was a member of the Phi Theta Gamma Sorority and TOPS. She graduated from Murphy HS in 1956. She was a talented artist in oils & acyrilc and won several awards and juried showings. She had worked at Scott Paper Company, The Red Cross, Victory Medical Clinic and Co-owned The Petal Pusher Florist on Moffat Road.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis Earl Havard , Ruby Wrosdick Havard and brother-in-law Richard (Teresa) White.
She was the mother of three children: Alan (Suzanne) Lassiter, Pam (Mark) Walton and Angela (Craig) Cates. She was Mama Joyce to Six Grandchildren: Chris (Corrine) Jones, Emily Lassiter, Zachary Lassiter, Carston Cates, Conner Cates and Coulton Cates, and two Great Grandchildren: Michael Jones and Grace Jones.
The Visitation will be at Pinecrest Funeral Home on Monday October 16th. Family from 11:00 am to 12 Noon – Friends from 12 Noon to 1pm with services at 1pm. Located at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605
