John William Abraham Crane

John William Abraham Crane, 75, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 in Mobile, Alabama. He was born to Elijah and Annie Crane on April 8, 1947 in Mobile. John had a lengthy career with Mobile County beginning as an operator before eventually retiring as Camp Superintendent. He was a very determined man – whatever he set his mind to he accomplished – and he endeavored to instill the same ethic in his children. John was a proponent for “No matter what you had to do in life, you did it, regardless of how unpleasant it may be”. He was a lifelong artist, a self-proclaimed jack of all trades – master of none. John was also a motorcycle enthusiast. Above all else, he loved his family. John was an amazing and loving father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

John was preceded in death by his parents; and two children, Brian and Chelsea.

He is survived by daughter, Debra; sons, Einar, John II and Shawn; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation for John will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a Celebration of Life immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
