I met John at the Marian House Soup Kitchen in 2015 when I started volunteering there. He was a great guy to work with and we got along great, especially since we were both Marines (although he served in the Corps about 15 years before I did). Along with most volunteers John stopped coming in early 2020 when the covid restrictions started. I always hoped to see him again, although I later learned he and Linda had moved to Alabama. 
I was very sad to find out today (3/10/2023) at the soup kitchen from Charlie that John had passed.

Lois and I were touched to hear of the passing of John.  We met John through the Handyman Connection in Colorado Springs were John began working as one of the craftsmen doing odd jobs for customers.  We liked John right from the start because we knew he could be trusted and would always, always do the right thing for our customers.  John was liked by all who met him and his wit and humor was greatly appreciated.  We had a few of our craftsmen whom we knew would always represent the business as if it were thiers and John stood out among them.  We became friends and kept in contact after we sold the business and continued to share and communicate on Facebook.  John was a unique individual and will be missed by all who knew him. It was a pleasure to have known and spent time with John.  He was a fascinating man, and I had such respect for his humility and love for his family - he would do anything for them, and it seemed as though he could. I enjoyed sharing stories with him and hearing  about the many projects that he’d successfully undertaken. Unintentionally and without arrogance he showed me how much I have to learn and what’s most important in life.  Thank you for your time.

I have great memories of John and Linda visiting my husband Danny and I in Grants Pass OR. He was always up for a new adventure, rafting the Rogue River or trying his hand at disc golf. John was a kind and thoughtful friend, husband and father and he will be greatly missed

We are so sorry to hear about John's passing.  John was a great friend to us. The time we spent together will always be cherished. John was a great, talented, generous man with many interests. (Family, house projects, cars, engineering).  We will miss him.


So sorry to hear of Johns passing.   As a member of the CSSE group, remember John with the fondest of memories.  Very good lad to deal with.   To the family,  bless you, and pray for your comfort at this time.  He worked I think with Toys for Tots, and thought of him recently when hearing of the progress of that program.


 I was very saddened to hear about John's passing.  Linda, Corina, Emily, and the rest of the family, I am so sorry for your loss.  I will always remember John as a very smart, funny person and as a great family-man. We will be thinking a lot about you guys as this tough holiday-season approaches.  We miss you up in NYC and hope that you find comfort and healing over time.

I am so sorry to hear that John has left us.  I know he is seriously missed.  I first met him when he came to New Orleans  to visit Corina when she was a new graduate  student at the University of New Orleans.  He was so supportive and proud of her academic work.  He and Linda came often so I was lucky enough to get to know him, and her.   He was a  joy to interact with.   I remember him telling how he met Linda in Germany.  He had to make a business call related in some way to computers at her place of work.   When he saw her,  I think he lost his interest in computers  and changed his focus.  As he told it, it was one of those "she had him at hello" experiences.  He was a loving husband  and a loving father to Corina and Emily.
