Jimmy “Roy” Rogers – an 81 year-old native of Guntersville, Alabama and resident of Mobile passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He worked as a carpenter with the carpenters’ union local #89 for 50 years. He had a strong commitment to God and was a member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church. He had a passion for all things automotive, especially sports cars and race cars. His greatest joy in life were his grandchildren.
Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Jeattie Rogers; brother, Bobby Dale Rogers; and sister, Shelba Rogers. He is survived by his daughter, Dena Belcher (Kyle); grandchildren, Vincent Belcher and Lucy Belcher; brothers, Myron Rogers (Cathy) and Brent Rogers (Mary); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
