Jim Ramsey – a 78 year-old native of Covington County, AL and longtime resident of Mobile passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Mr. Ramsey was preceded in death by his parents, Dace and Alice Ramsey, and beloved daughter, Jennifer Ramsey. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Ramsey; daughter Adriene Miller; son-in-law Brandon Miller; and many extended family members and friends.
Jim’s generous and jolly nature won him many friends throughout his life. He always had a story to tell or a news article to recount, and he never met a stranger. His favorite topic to regale an audience with was the adventures of his daughter and son-in-law; his pride in them both was unparalleled. Jim was an active and enthusiastic member of the Gulf Coast Bimmers, a chapter of the BMW Car Club of America. He was an avid Harley-Davidson rider as well. He took several epic cross country road trips that he reveled in recounting in detail as often as possible, to anyone who would listen. His love of anything on wheels, two or four, was rivaled only by his love of University of Alabama football. He was incredibly proud to have been an original member of the U.S. Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights.
A memorial visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile (www.ucpmobile.org) and Krewe de Rescue (P.O.
