Mr. Jerry S. Shields, age 68, longtime resident of Saraland, AL was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 21, 2015, surrounded by his wife, family and pastor, Gary Shockley. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Ziba, two brothers, Butch and Ronnie Shields. Mr. Shields was retired from Mobile Press Register, after 38 years of service. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He loved caring for his plants, spending time at the beach and grilling. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Barbara Shields, stepsons, James Weaver and Greg Weaver and many other family and friends. Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 12:00 Noon.
