Jason Smith

Charles Jason Smith, 45, of Mobile, AL, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeremy Boley Smith. He is survived by his wife, Taunya Smith; his son, Caleb Duncan Smith; his brother, Benjamin Joseph Smith; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones. Active pallbearers are Jason Walker, Bernie Frazier, Harris Vaughn, Alec May, Fred Wilson, and Jeremy Nolen. The honorary pallbearer will be Janet Frazier. Jason was born in Tuscaloosa, AL. He graduated from the University of West Alabama with a degree in Sports Medicine. He worked with the Monroe Moccasins Hockey Team, various high schools in Louisiana and Alabama. He worked for AT&T for several years. He enjoyed coaching sports and helping coach his son in baseball and lacrosse. Jason was also an avid duck hunter and deep-sea fisherman, but above everything in the world, he loved his family and friends. Visitation for Jason will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery.
