Olga Mae Janet Heubach Stanfield, 86, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Daphne, AL. The youngest of five children, Janet was born on May 4, 1935, in Mobile, AL to the late Edward and Thelma Sketoe Heubach. In addition to raising their children, Edward and Thelma owned and operated Heubach Grocery in Mobile.
Janet was a graduate of Murphy High School class of 1952. She was a loving mother to her four children, William David Wilson, Kay Wilson McWhorter (Curry), Ronald Phillip Wilson (Molly), and Mark Daniel Wilson from her first husband William Carroll Wilson. Mrs. Stanfield was an avid water skier and painter.
After raising her children, Janet worked for the Mobile County Public School System. It seemed like Janet was always making a cake and flower arrangements for a wedding. Her German chocolate cakes and carrot cakes were and are unrivaled. Janet square danced as a member of the Wagon Wheelers and Mobile Single Squares where she met and fell in love with Norman. After a ten-year courtship, Janet married James Norman Stanfield in 2003. They always lived life to the fullest, including Mardi Gras Balls, Square Dancing, Table Dances, hosting and attending parties, remodeling rental homes, and playing with grandchildren. Norman and Janet were excited to be a part of The Reverend Jeff Spiller’s calling to build Christ Wesleyan Church in Daphne. They shared their lovely home on Fowl River with their two dogs, Sophie and Blackie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Joyce Heubach Farr and Dorraine Heubach Imsand, her brother Ronald Edward Heubach, her son Phillip, her step-daughter Forrest Anne Arnett, and her grandson Trevor Wilson Sonnier.
