James Emmett Jones

James Emmett Jones – Loving Husband and Father - came to earth July 15, 1924 and departed November 17, 2012. He was a native of Albertville, AL and a resident of Houma, LA.

Visitation will be from 12 PM until service time on Wednesday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Mobile, AL. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Erma Jones; 2 sons, Norman Jones and wife Marguerite and Larry Jones and wife Jan; daughter Rebecca Washington and husband Kenneth; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lavaine Williams; sister-in-law, Marcy and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Smith and Emma Bishop Jones; daughter, Teresa Jones; 5 brothers, Eldred Jones and wife Emma, Luby Jones and wife Louise, Homer Jones and wife Edith, Warren Jones and wife Wilma, Carlos Jones; 3 sisters, Christine Hill and husband Travis, Annie Laura West and husband Ben; and Dera Williams.

He served in WWII on the Navy Destroyer Mine Sweeper J. William Ditter. He will be greatly missed by all.
