James David Jeffries, Sr.
May 4, 1941 – January 3, 2025
Born in Holly Ridge, Louisiana, David Jeffries passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Baucum Jeffries.
He is survived by his beloved wife and high school sweetheart of 63 years, Elizabeth Warren Jeffries; their two sons, James David Jeffries, Jr. (Virginia) and John Warren Jeffries (Therese); five cherished grandchildren, Sarah Coker (Jake), Baylor Baker (Will), John Warren Jeffries, Jr. (Anna Cate), Elizabeth Jeffries, and Elliott Jeffries; two great-granddaughters, Palmer and Olivia Coker and two sisters Rosemary LeGuin (Ronnie) and Cheryl Jeffries.
He retired in 2002 after a long and successful finance/accounting career with International Paper Company, moving with the company from Bastrop, Louisiana to Mobile Alabama, Pine Bluff Arkansas, Darien Connecticut and ultimately back to Mobile to call it home.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Pat Hollingsworth and the caregivers at Saad Hospice for their devoted care during David's final days.
A celebration of David’s life with a private service for family and close friends will be held on Thursday, January 9th, in the Little Church at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 9:30 AM. A visitation with the family to follow in the parish hall from 10 to 11:30 AM.
