Celebration of Life services for Mr. James H. Edwards, 98, will be held at 12:30 PM, Tuesday, October 30, 2018, in the Chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama, 36605. Officiating will be Ministers Charles Robertson, Gene Kerr and Art Burroughs of Fulton Road Baptist Church, 1800 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama 36605.
Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama, 36605.
The family will be receiving guests during visitation for the sharing of memories and honoring of James, Monday, October 29, 2018, from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, October 30, 2018, from 11:30 AM until time of service at 12:30 PM at Pine Crest Funeral Home.
James H. Edwards was born June 26, 1920, in Kemper County, Mississippi, to the late James Thomas and Pauline Helms Edwards and was called to his Heavenly home on October 20, 2018, in Mobile, Alabama. He was a successful business owner as an Electrical Contractor. More importantly, he was a wonderful, kind, gentle, helpful, giving, understanding, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and respected Mentor to many relatives and friends alike. We love you, miss you and look forward to joining you again for that joyous reunion in Heaven. James served this grateful nation by enlisting as an Army Veteran during World War II. He was a member of Fulton Road Baptist Church and IBEW, VFW, Scottish Rite and Hamasa Temple.
James was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, a son; James Donald Edwards and his sister; Colene Edwards Myers.
Left to cherish the beautiful memories James leaves behind, will be his beloved wife of 51 years; Laura Ann Horton Edwards, two daughters: Janice Kaye Edwards Olson and husband Doug, Laura Lee Thornton Wallace and husband Chuck, six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Pallbearers will be Doug Olson, Shaun Olson, Chuck Wallace, Chase Wallace, Johnny Horton and Mike Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Melton and his Sunday School Class.
