Herman Neese, Sr. was proceeded in death by his parents, Charles Otto Neese, Sr. and Maudine Waltman Neese; his son, Frank Miguel (Mickey) Neese; his daughter in law, Virginia McFarlane Neese; his brothers: Walter F. Neese, James E. Neese and Charles Otto Neese, Jr., and his sisters: Mildred Neese Reneke, Delores Neese Conway, and Ernestine Neese Vann.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen Narvaez Neese, his sons: Herman Lebaron (Michelle) Neese, Jr., and Manuel Alexander (Lynn) Neese; his grandchildren: Joseph Neese, Michael (Katie) Neese, Nicholas Neese, Ashleigh Neese, Ava Neese, and his great granddaughter Virginia Anne Neese; his brother Thomas (Tommy) W. (Eleesha) Neese, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
Herman was born in Whistler, Alabama. He was a long-time resident of Mobile, Alabama before moving to Katy, TX. After graduating from McGill High School in 1952, he attended Springhill College before enlisting in the U.S. Army. After completing a tour in Verdun, France from 1954 – 1956, he returned to Mobile and became a partner in the Neese Lumber Company until he retired in 2008 and closed the business. He attended Holy Family Catholic Church until he moved to Katy, Texas and joined St. Bartholomew there. His hobbies were his family, walking on the land he owned, and his work. He loved spending time with his family.
The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on November 18, 2022 at Holy Family Church, 1400 Joyce Road, Mobile, AL, immediately followed by the 11 a.m. Mass.
Following the Mass, the graveside committal will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Mobile, AL with a reception held after the service at the Pine Crest Funeral Home.
