Helen Peters Persons

Helen Carrie Elizabeth Peters Persons passed away at her home in Mobile on Thursday, February 2, 2017. Helen was born to Mildred and Arthur Peters in Prichard, AL . She was a graduate of Vigor High School and married Forrest Persons in 1948. They had four children who survive her; Paul Forrest Persons (Carolyn), Rebecca Persons Fischer (Hugo), Eve Hanssen-Wood (Jim) and Judith Persons (Paul) and longtime friend of the family, Lillian Joyce Mayton. Helen had a large and loving family consisting of one granddaughter, six grandsons and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved to garden and travel. She was a member of Hollingers Island Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Hollingers Island Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Creola Cemetery, Creola, AL. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons; Paul “Buddy” Persons, Jr., Jared Lutz Persons, David Orion Schuford, Bryan Joseph Schuford, Jordan Eugene Hanssen and Douglas Christian Wood. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hollingers Island Baptist Church. Arrangements under the direction of Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, Mobile, AL.
