Gladden Edward Boone Jr.

G. Edward Boone Jr., a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the age of 77. Eddie was born on July 12, 1945, to Gladden Edward Boone Sr. and Gertrude Smith Boone.

He attended Murphy High School, where he was a proud member of the drumline in the Mighty Marching Panther Band, and graduated in 1963.

He attended The University of South Alabama, and later worked over 30years in Industrial Sales.

Eddie enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He never met a stranger he couldn’t talk to, and always greeted everyone with a warm smile. He loved watching Auburn Football, woodworking in his shop with his son, listening to the oldies, and dancing at every opportunity.

He was a member of Government Street Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed his love of music while singing in the Choir. He also was a proud member of the Mobile Vocal Arts Choral Society for many years.

He took so much joy in his family and is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy T. Boone; their children, Patrick Damon Boone (Elizabeth) of Mobile, and Brooke Boone Baker (Ben) of Mobile.

He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Jackson Boone, Mac Boone and Lucy Belle Baker, as well as his nieces, brother-in-law, cousins and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Sandra Boone Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in June.
